In Istanbul, long way from home

Whatever I complain about Istanbul, music is not included in this; the music scene in Istanbul has always been prolific. It is true that we do not have small cozy bars where you would enjoy good music for 10 bucks as you would do in NYC or in London. Yet, we get to see many good musicians on the stage here. One of the projects I recently discovered on FB is “long way from home”, Istanbul Acoustic Sessions, which films musicians visiting the city in a very similar fashion to the French blog called La Blogotheque in Paris. Musicians could be jamming in the street. In a musical instruments store. or on a roof top overlooking the Golden Horn. Always intimate. Always acoustic. Always istanbul in the background.
