Windows of Time # 1

If you are aiming for photographing windows in Istanbul, I assure you will not fall short of picturesque windows if you go off the beaten track… Though I have never been fond of romanticizing poverty, the window tilts lined with pots of geranium take me back down the memory lane. The traditional way of life is still very alive in these neighborhoods; children play in the streets, women spend time outside chatting with neighbors, there seems to be no restaurants or cafes around fro the moment. All you need to do is to grab your camera and a map to visit these less frequented places, such as Fener, Kumkapı, Cibali, Balat, or Kadırga.

Children are always easy with camera and posing, but with adults, especially women, make sure you get a permission. At least with a body gesture. The first 4 pictures were taken in Kumkapı, and the last 3 in Cibali, Fener and Üsküdar respectively.
